Lynda Gayle (Wilcox) Parnell

Lynda Wilcox Parnell, 83, of Kannapolis, NC, joined her loved ones in Heaven on March 15, 2024, at Big Elm Retirement Center, after many years of declining health. Lynda was born August 1940 and was the daughter of the late Monroe & Nellie Weddington Wilcox. She lived in the Kannapolis and Concord area all her life and attended Rowan County Schools.

Lynda will be remembered by her friends and loved ones for her contagious laugh and her sense of humor. She loved the mountains and the beach and butterflies.  She enjoyed any kind of crafts and solving Word Search Puzzles. She loved her family and liked having their pictures around her. She always was more interested in helping others than in having help for herself and made a lot of friends over the years.

Lynda loved the Lord and would tell those who came to visit about what He had done for her. She subscribed to daily Bible lessons and would study them from her bed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter Barbara Ann Davenport.

Lynda is survived by her daughter, Linda Kay Brown and her husband Charles of China Grove, NC and a son Billy R.  Keller and his wife Tania of Waynesville, NC, as well as numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the nursing staff of Big Elm for their love and care and friendship over the years.

In honoring her request, no services will be held. She will be remembered by her family and friends for the love they shared, and times spent together.
