Billy Ledbetter

Billy Gene Ledbetter, 74, of Mooresville passed away December 12, 2021 at Atrium-Cabarrus. He was born October 29, 1947 in Cabarrus County, a son of the late Clifford and Pauline Ledbetter.

Billy retired from  Freightliner after many years. He also had formerly worked at Johnson Motor Lines and Yellow Freight. Billy was a former police officer for Kannapolis Police Department and the Cabarrus County Sherriff’s Department. He also worked for Rowan County Corrections Department. Billy loved fishing and playing his guitar. Billy loved his family and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, December 16, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Nathan Smith. His family will receive friends prior from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Billy is survived by his wife, Kelly Ledbetter, daughter, Meredith Miller (Sammy), grandchildren, Madison and companion Chandler Norton, Zoie and Brayden Miller, brother, Jerry Ledbetter (Cindy), sister, Sherry Rojas, special brother in-law and sister in-law, Wayne and Tracy Tyson, and numerous nieces and nephews.
