Christopher (Chris) Wayne Mccraven

Christopher “Chris” Wayne McCraven, 42, of Kannapolis, NC died unexpectedly on Thursday, April 2, 2020.  A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Chris was born February 8, 1978 in Cabarrus County, NC and was the son of Wayne McCraven (Charity) of Kannapolis, NC and Renee Campbell McCraven of Kannapolis, NC. He was a 1996 graduate of A.L. Brown High School.  He had a passion for painting cars and motorcycles and spent a lot of weekends working on projects in his father’s garage. He had various jobs with auto repair shops, motorcycle shops and at Freightliner all for painting.  In his spare time, Chris loved watching sports.  A joke would be that if it involved a ball, he enjoyed watching it.  UNC Tarheels and Washington Redskins were his favorite teams and on most days he was seen wearing a t-shirt or hat from either team.

Chris is survived by his estranged wife, Amanda Rose McCraven of Kannapolis NC and family, two daughters: Amy and Abigail, two sisters Tanisha Corl (Dustin) of Rockwell, NC, Jessica Jung (Jon) of Kannapolis, NC, brother Brian McCraven (Katie) of Virginia Beach, VA, step sisters April Chastain (Jerry) of Harrisburg NC and Lisa DeGroat of Kannapolis NC, grandmother Eileen McCraven of Landis, NC as well as 3 aunts, 3 uncles, 4 nieces and 1 nephew.
