Joe "Allen" Hall Jr. 96 of Kannapolis, was called home to heaven to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on, Saturday, September 23, 2023, at his home.
He was born August 1, 1927 in Cabarrus Co. to the late Joe Allen Hall Sr. and Esther Sain Hall.
Allen was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving in Guam, Dutch Harbor, Adak, and Kodiak, Alaska, and Seattle Washington, he received the Asiatic Pacific Medal, Victory Medal, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a supervisor in the sewing room in Cannon Mills Plant #1.
He served as a deacon at Shady Brook Baptist and Royal Oaks Baptist Churches in Kannapolis. He was also a Scout Master at Royal Oaks Baptist. Allen enjoyed playing cards with his wife and friends in their younger years and he enjoyed playing golf, going to the beach, and fishing, he enjoyed being with his grandchildren, he liked tending to his garden and watching things grow, he loved sitting on his porch swing and he loved going to Troutman's BBQ in Concord to see all his friends. He was still driving at 94 and would love to see what all was being built around town.
He was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy Crisco Hall in 2008, his daughter Terry Hall Morris in 2020, brother Bill Hall and sister Kathleen Merriman.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son Joe Allen Hall III and his wife Kim of Kannapolis, two grandsons Jonathan Allen Hall, Joshua Lee Hall and his wife Katie, great grandson, Walker Hall, a sister Doris Leaser and her husband Dub, of Mooresville, and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be Thurs 9/28 from 6-7:00pm at Whitley's and service to follow at 7:00 in the chapel at Whitley's with the Rev. Dr. Jim Harris officiating. Entombment will be Friday at 1:00 PM at Carolina Memorial Park.
