Mary Lou Jones, 85, of Kannapolis, passed away Friday, November 24, 2023, at Tucker Hospice. She was born December 31, 1937, to the late William Ewing and Novella Honeycutt Furr.

Mary graduated from Landis High School in 1956. Mary Lou married Jack D. Jones on August 20, 1960, in York, South Carolina. They were married over 60 years.

Mary worked in the Cannon Mill for over 46 years. She retired in 2003. Mary always loved spending time decorating her home, no matter what holiday it was. She loved finding new ways and things to spruce up their home.

Mary is survived by her beloved husband, Jack; her brother, James (Yvonne) Ewing; her brothers-in-law, Morris Jones, Clyde Jones and Charles Jones; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Emma (Joe) Whitley and other relatives.

Mary’s family will receive relatives and friends on Thursday, November 30, 2023, at 1:00 PM for time of visitation at Whitley’s Funeral Home, 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd, Kannapolis, NC 28083. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. The burial will be held at Carolina Memorial Park.
