Wanda Kay (Cook) Ferrusca

Wanda Kay Cook Ferrusca, 65, of Kannapolis, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at Tucker Hospice House.

Wanda was born in Gaston County, NC on August 4, 1954 to the late Albert Cook and Mary Galloway Cook. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters and two brothers.

Wanda was a very independent person. She worked as a manager at K-Mart in San Angelo, Texas for 19 years. She was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and had a special place in her heart for animals. She was a resident at Accordius Health Nursing Home in Kannapolis, where she enjoyed playing bingo and attending church services.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Beverly Turner Carter; son, Robert (Jessica) Bollinger; two grandchildren, Austin Turner and Megan Carter; sister, Linda (Frank) Medlin, and numerous nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at Whitley’s Funeral Home on Friday, May 22, 2020 from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. A graveside service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. at Carolina Memorial Park.
