A. Doris Harris Allman

Obituary: Agnes Doris Harris Allman, 83, of 142 Patton Lane, Kannapolis died at her home on Thursday, September 27, 2012. Doris was born on December 31, 1928 in Cook County, GA, the daughter of the late John Archie Harris and the late Lucy Smith Harris. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Allman who died in 1988 and a brother, John Irvin Harris. Doris started in 1947 working for the former Cannon Mills Co. in the #1 Spinning Room at Plant 6 retiring in the early 1990's. She was a member of Bethpage United Methodist Church. The funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m., Sunday, September 30, 2012 at Bethpage United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Duane Melton. Burial will take place in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends in the foyer of the church from 2-3:30 before the service. At other times will be at Mrs. Allmans residence off Smith Road in Kannapolis. Survivors include her brother, William Harris; 3 sisters, Mildred Savage, Mary Lou Talley and Faye Hutto; and a number of nieces and nephews.
