Obituary: Ada Cotignola, age 77, of Concord died peacefully at Pruitt Health at the Oaks Town Center, Harrisburg on November 24, 2014 after a long battle with breast cancer. Her family will receive friends at Whitley's Funeral Home on Friday, November 28, 2014, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM with Fr. Dionne leading the Rosary at 8:30 PM. A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, November 29 at St James the Greater Catholic Church. Private burial will follow at the National Cemetery in Salisbury at a later date. Ada was born in Coamo, Puerto Rico. She immigrated to New York City with her mother Adela, sister Olga and brother Joe. In the early 1960's she met her beloved husband Tony Cotignola, Sr. They lived in Brooklyn before moving to Levittown in 1972. Ada enjoyed regular coffee clutch and family gatherings for many years with the lifelong friends she made there. Ada was an incredible baker and cook. Ada and Tony retired to Las Vegas in 1996 and enjoyed 11 years of bright lights, great meals, slot machines and bingo. They both moved to Concord, North Carolina in 2007. In addition to her parents, Ada was preceded in death by her husband, Anthony Michael Cotignola, Sr. on September 5, 2014. She is survived by her 2 sons; Tony Cotignola, Jr. and his wife Stefanie of Harrisburg, and Chris Cotignola and his wife Annie of East Northport NY, and 1 grandson Joseph Cotignola of Harrisburg.
