Ada Irene (Upright) Helms

Ada Irene Upright Helms, 76 years old, of Kannapolis, went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on June 15, 2022.  Ada was born on December 13, 1945 in Cabarrus County to the late Columbus Lee and Mary Lee Wright Upright.

Ada was a South Rowan High School graduate and worked at Philip Morris for 20 + years before retiring.  She loved flowers, especially her garden and her two dogs, Boo Boo and Packo.

Ada was predeceased by her husband, William Helms; her brother, Mack Upright and her sister Wanda Kennedy.  Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Keith Pope; her brothers, David Upright and his wife Cathy and Danny Upright and his wife Patricia; her sister, Melany Knight and her husband Mike; and her grandchildren, Michael Blake Pope and Cameron Lee Pope.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 17, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home from 11am to 12pm with a funeral service at 12pm in the Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel.  Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
