Agnes (Canup) Blake

Agnes Wynona Canup Blake 88, of Kannapolis passed away Sunday April 16, 2023, at her residence.

Agnes was born on May 14, 1934, in Cabarrus County to the late Carl Avery Canup and the late Lounelle Hord Canup.  Agnes was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  She was a faithful member of Royal Oaks Baptist Church.   In earlier years, she loved to fish and garden in her yard.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Earl James Blake in 2000, sons, Scott Blake and Earl James Blake, Jr. , a daughter, Sandra Greene, and her brothers Kenneth Canup and Danny Canup.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son; James Blake of Kannapolis, daughters; Diane Rorie of Kannapolis, and Lyndyll Mae Poythress of Kannapolis, 6 Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren 2 Great-Great Grandchildren.

A visitation will be held Friday April 21, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Whitley’s Funeral Home with the Funeral service beginning at 11:00 AM in the Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Andy Downs with burial  following at Carolina Memorial Park.
