Albert Paul Cook

Obituary: Albert Paul Cook, 68, of Kannapolis died Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Tucker Hospice House. He was born Sept. 28, 1942 in Rowan County, the son of the late Keller and Myrtle Pless Cook. Paul had formerly worked for the NC Highway Dept. and then at NC Finishing Co. He was a security guard at Linn-Corriher Mills with the rank of Sergeant before retiring.He was a member of Mt. Hope United Church of Christ where he had been a former Sunday school teacher for 25 years and an Elder.Paul loved playing the guitar, singing, fishing and cooking. Funeral services will be 4:00 PM Wednesday at Mt. Hope U.C.C.officiated by Rev. David Crook. Burial will follow at New Gilead Reformed UCC cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 PM Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home. He is survived by his wife, Patricia Byrd Cook, 2 daughters Donna Cook and Becky Tilley (Jeff), two grandchildren: Sarah Cook and Austin Tilley, two step-grandchildren Justin and Steven Tilley, two step-greatgrandchildren Ally and T.J., his brother Clarence Cook (Kay), a nephew David Cook, a niece Kim Fugate, his mother-in-law Annie Byrd and two sisters-in-law Karen Morton and Judy Byrd. The family would like to thank the staff at the Tucker Hospice House,the doctors and nurses at CMC-NorthEast Emergency room and Second floor Pulmonary Unit for their love and care. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
Visitation: 7-9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 12, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 4p.m. Wednesday, April 13, 2011 at Mt. Hope U.C.C.

Interment: New Gilead Reformed UCC Cemetery.
