Albert York

Obituary: Albert Edgar York, 93 of Richmond, VA died at Elmcroft of Chesterfield Retirement Center, Richmond on August 18, 2017. Mr. York was born January 20, 1924 in Wilkes-Barre, PA, a son of the late Peter Yeraska and the late Anna Ruditis Yeraska. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Ada "Rusty" Bowers York and a brother, Jerome Yeraska. Mr. York was a WW-2 and Korean War US Navy Veteran. After the war he was employed as an budget analysts for the Dept. of the Army (Defense). Mr. York was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Edward council 6546, Richmond, VA Albert is survived by two sons; Larry York and Richard York both of Richmond; granddaughter, Lindsey York; a niece, Doris Ausmann and husband Boyd and by a nephew, Bo Bowers. The service for Mr. York will take place at 8:00 p.m., Sunday, August 20th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the family receiving friends from 6:00 until the funeral hour. Burial will take place at 11 a.m., Monday, at Carolina Memorial Park with Military Honors by the provided by the Cabarrus County Honors Guard and the U.S. Navy.
