Alda M. Davies

Obituary: Alda M. Davies, 95, of Salisbury, passed away Friday, January 19, 2018 at Trinity Oaks in Salisbury. She was born July 24, 1922 in Gaston Co. to the late J.M. Metcalf and Ethel Tate Metcalf. During her career, Alda worked as a book keeper and office manager. In her retirement she enjoyed traveling the world, ballroom dancing, arts and crafts, and sewing. She was preceded in death by her husband Sydney Davies in 1992, as well as four brothers and one sister. Those left to cherish her memory are two daughters: Sandra Cobb (Robert) of Salisbury, and Marty Tilley (David) of Surfside Beach, SC. She is also survived by four grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, January 22, 2018, at Enon Baptist Church in Salisbury with Rev. Ken Clark officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 to 1:00 PM at the church. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the donor's choice.
