Alden Jay White, 57, of Kannapolis, passed away Wednesday, December 2, 2020, at Tucker Hospice House, following a period of declining health.
Alden was born October 3, 1963, in Brooklyn, NY, a son of the late James Edward White and Almeta Delores Jenkins White.
Mr. White had worked for Cabarrus County Schools, where he was a much-loved special needs teacher. Prior to working for Cabarrus County, he had worked with Charlotte Mecklenburg Schools as a special needs teacher, and was an art teacher at Sugar Creek and Kennedy Charter Schools in Mecklenburg County. Earlier in his career, Alden had taught in the NY Public Schools Board of Education District 32. A gifted and talented artist, he loved fishing and had mastered the art of making great pancakes. A loving and devoted husband, father, uncle, teacher and friend of many, Mr. White will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who were blessed to have known him.
Loving family members include his devoted wife of 27 years, Viviette Ladson White; his children, Alden White, II, Matthew White and wife, Megan, and Aliya White; his brothers, Teromee White (Denise), James White, Jr. (Grace), Edwin White (Valerie), Martin White (Darlene) and Sydney White; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 am Friday, December 11, 2020, at Whitley’s Funeral Home. Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mr. White will begin at 11:00 am in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Rev. Steve Wilson. Mr. White will be laid to rest at Carolina Memorial Park following the funeral service.
