Alice Jane Rabon Wike

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Alice Jane Rabon Wike, age 80, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. She was born March 31, 1932 in Rowan County, NC, the daughter of the late Tom Rabon and Virginia Brigman Rabon. Alice was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant #1, Sheet Dept. for 47 years until her retirement. Later, she worked as a hostess for Hardee's Restaurant, S. Cannon Blvd., Kannapolis, for nine years where she made many friends. She was a devoted member of the Kannapolis Church of God. She loved to play the piano and sing and also served as a pianist at several churches in the area throughout her life. She is fondly remembered as a lady that loved to cook and cook for others around her. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Lonnie Wike; three brothers; and three sisters. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, May 11, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Sam Crisp and Pastor Greg Sloop. Burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 12:00 to 2:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. Survivors include her two daughters, Dianne Agee & husband, Jim of Charlotte, NC and Phyllis Ford of Kannapolis, NC; five grandchildren, Vania, Marla, Paul, Donald, and Megan; three great-grandchildren; one brother, Harry Rabon of High Point, NC.
