Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Allan James Pletcher, age 45, died Monday, January 4, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, Concord, NC. He was suffering from a life-long renal disease culminating in the last several months. He was born January 6, 1964 in Norfolk, Virginia, the son of Thomas R. Pletcher and Mary Margaret Breakwell Pletcher. He was a graduate of Tidewater Community College with an associate's degree in computer technology. He had been employed with several building & office supply companies as a computer specialist & installer for many years. He served as a volunteer fireman for 13 years, he was also a first responder with the Kannapolis Fire Department at Station #1 and trained in emergency medical systems, emergency medical technology, traffic control, & fire suppression. In the meantime he was the computer, sound, & lighting specialist at Central Baptist Church and later Charity Baptist Church. At Charity he also was the league director of the outdoor softball fields. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, January 7, 2010 at Charity Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Dr. R.J. Hammond and Rev. Brenda Newman. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, January 6, 2010 at Charity Baptist Church. Survivors in addition to his parents include his son, Matthew M. Pletcher & wife, Anna Whitley Pletcher of Landis, NC and his daughter, Lauren Pletcher of the home; one grandson, Jayden Matthew Pletcher; his sister, Melissa L. Pletcher of Concord, NC; and also various uncles, aunts, and cousins. Memorials may be made to the Allan J.
