Obituary: Allen Wayne Stegall, 53, of Kannapolis died Sunday, October 4, 2009 at his residence following a period of declining health. He was born August 8, 1956 in Union County, NC son of the late Charlie Marvin and Lavonia Helms Stegall. He was a self-employed plumber until his retirement due to ill health. He was a member of Centerview Baptist Church and was a Veteran of the US Army serving during the Viet Nam era. Funeral services will be 11:30 A.M. Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at Centerview Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Willie Rash. Visitation will be at the church from 10:30-11:30 A.M. At other times the family will be at the residence. Interment will follow the service at Salisbury National Cemetery. Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Rowan County Veteran's Honor Guard and the N.C. Army Guard. He is survived by his wife: Carol Sue Elwood Stegall of the Home. Two Sons: Jamie Stegall and wife Jamie, Jason Stegall and wife Heather all of Kannapolis. Six Grandchildren: Jacob Sikes, Zakkary Stegall, Jessicia Sikes, Dawson Stegall, Bennett Stegall, and Camden Stegall. One Step Son: Bobby Sikes of Kannapolis. Also survived by three Brothers: Wilson, Max, and Jerry Stegall all of Kannapolis, Three Sisters: Peggy Weast and Christine Eudy both of Concord, and Barbara Slawson of China Grove.
