Obituary: Allida Lane, 67, of Charlotte passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at the Tucker Hospice House following a brief period of declining health. Allida was born in Jefferson County, KY, a daughter of the late Edward and Faye Dunaway Lane. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three brothers, Ross, Larry, and Joel Ray Lane. Allida was employed by Phillip Morris in Louisville, KY before retiring from the company's Cabarrus County plant in the late 1990s. A passionate person, Allida had a keen mind, rarely minced words, but had a loving, generous, and sacrificial nature that are matched by few. To say that she will be missed by many is an understatement. On January 1, 2000, she married Mike Huber, her one true love and he survives her. In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Cheryl White, a son, Jason White and wife Christina, three grandchildren, Shea, Kate, and Corban White, two brothers, E. W. Bill and A. Leon Lane, three step-children, Beth McCray, Becky Wissusik, and Patrick Huber, and six step grandchildren. The funeral service for Allida will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, October 7, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Hyde officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service at the funeral home on Monday. Many thanks to all of those who helped in Allida's care, and a special thank you to Dr. Mark Aldous, who treated Allida as a doctor should care for all their patients. The family suggest memorials be made to Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081. Online condolences may be left at www.whitleysfuneralhome.com
