Alma Jane Oliphant

Obituary: Alma Jane Oliphant went home to be with Jesus on November 30, 2017 after a long battle with cancer. Her faith became her sight as she was reunited with her husband George Glenn Oliphant and grandson Christopher Hager. She was born October 20th 1935 in Bladenboro, NC to the late Willie Franklin and Mary Isabelle Russ. She graduated in 1955 from Bladenboro High and went on to Charlotte School of Business. She later made her career at Merita Bakeries. Those left to celebrate her life include, her two daughters Rachel Barefoot of Kannapolis and Jeana Hager (Don) of China Grove, loving grandchildren Mitchell Smith (Jana), Kelly Atkins, Scott Anderson (Tiffany), Jacob Smith, and Summer Parris (Wayne) and five adored great grandchildren Sophia, Josie Mae, Deacon, Hunter and Mabel Jane; brother Charles Russ (Joyce) of Fairmont, NC. Visitation: 1-2:00 PM, Monday, December 4, 2017 at Living Water Church of God (166 N. Little Texas Rd.) the service will follow at 2:00 PM conducted by Rev. Wade Easom and burial to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Hospice and Palliative care of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
