Alma Louise (Helms) Setzer

Alma Louise Helms Setzer, 85 years old, of Kannapolis, passed away on February 5, 2022.  Alma was born on September 8, 1936 in Burke County, NC to the late John and Bertha Jenkins Helms. She was raised in the Morganton and Lake James area of North Carolina.

Alma worked in the hotel and restaurant industries throughout her career.  She loved to and teach her children how to cook.  Alma was a member of West Point Baptist Church in Kannapolis.

She was predeceased in death by her husband Arthur Caleb Setzer in 2015; her sons, Johnnie Johnson, Arthur Wayne Setzer, Bobby Johnson, Larry Johnson and Arthur Caleb Setzer, Jr.  Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Wanda Johnson and Elizabeth Ann Smith; her sons, Horace Edward Setzer, Jerry Johnson and Billy Johnson; her 10 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

A memorial service to celebrate Alma’s life will be held at a later date at West Point Baptist Church.
