Alson Edmon Fortson III "Ed", 54, of Kannapolis, passed away, Sunday, November 28, 2021 at his home, after 3 years of battling ALS "Lou Gehrig's Disease"
He was born in Cabarrus Co. to the late Alson Edmon Fortson Jr. and Geraldine Heath Fortson.
Ed was a brick mason and a Semi truck driver, he enjoyed hunting and loved fishing, he enjoyed building things, and teaching his granddaughter about nature and how to fish. Ed had a passion for Ford trucks. Most of all he loved his family, and they loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory; his wife Angela Fortson, five children; Travis Fortson (Brandi), Ashley Beam (Jesse), Dylan Fortson (Katie), Corey Fortson, Landen Fortson, one granddaughter Lacey Fortson, two sisters Darlene Barnwell and Beth Fortson. He also leaves behind two fur babies Ziggy and Peppi.
Funeral service will be held at 6:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 2, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Ed Hall officiating.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 4-6 PM at Whitley's Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to ALS Foundation at www.als.org/donate. Or to help the family to fund expenses for the scattering of his ashes.
