Alton Young Miles

Obituary: Mr. Alton Young Miles, 53, a native of Kannapolis and now of Indian Trail, NC died Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at Hospice of Monroe following a short illness.Alton was born July 28, 1958 in Cabarrus County, NC son of the late Wellington Young (Wink) Miles and Etna Wright Hinson Miles. He was a 1976 graduate of A.L. Brown High School and prior to his retirement due to disability was employed with the US Postal Service in Kannapolis. He loved animals, and was an avid fan of the Tar Heels and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Chad Miller. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.Survivors include his wife, Sheri Greene Miles of the Home, two sisters, Ann Miles Farabee and husband Charles of Kannapolis, Abby Miles Bostian and husband Phil of Charlotte, nieces and nephews, Phillip Bostian and wife Amanda, Lindsey Johnson and husband Jon, Josh Baker, Rebecca Doctor and husband Jordan, and Adam Bostian, and grand nephews; Jathan, Jeremiah and Miles. His father in law and mother in law; Bobby and Peggy Greene also survive.Memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Cabarrus County, P.O. Box 5747, Concord, NC 28027.
Visitation: The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:30 to 2:30 Sunday, Dec. 4. At other times they will be at the residence.

Service: Funeral services will be 2:30 P.M. Sunday, December 4, 2011 at Whitleys Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Chad Miller.

Interment: Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park.
