Andrew Nantz Ballard, 38, of Kannapolis, died November 24, 2024, at the W.G. Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury after a period of declining health.
A memorial service to celebrate Andrew’s life will be held at 3:00 PM Saturday, December 7 at Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church with Pastor John Futterer officiating. His family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 PM, prior to the memorial service, in the church commons.
Andrew was born January 16, 1986, in Cabarrus Co., a son of the late Joseph “Joe” Ballard and Robin D. Ballard of Kannapolis. In addition to his father, Andrew was preceded in death by his grandfather, G. F. Ballard and his step-grandfather, Pastor Hoke Ritchie.
In addition to his mother, Andrew is survived by his brother, Ben Ballard; his grandmother, Betty B. Ritchie; his grandparents, Furman and Dallene C. Dillard, all of Kannapolis and his many lifelong friends.
A lifelong area resident and longtime member of Kimball Memorial Lutheran Church, Andrew was also a graduate of NorthWest Cabarrus High School. He joined the Army after High School and made it his career until an illness caused him to retire.
