Andrew Lee Manus, 74, of China Grove, N.C. went to be with the Lord on Friday October 29, 2021 at the W.G. “Bill” Hefner VA Medical Center in Salisbury. He had been in declining health.
He was born July 19, 1947 in Mecklenburg County, NC a son of the late Albert Ellison and Maude Lillebell Coffey Manus.
Andrew was the owner and operator of Manus Educational Machinery. He enjoyed woodworking, playing the guitar and mandolin. He also enjoyed cooking and spending time with his family.
He was an active member of Piedmont Baptist Church, serving as a Deacon and Usher for many years. He and his wife taught Children’s Church for 30 years.
Andrew served in Vietnam with the US Army, First Air Calvary, where he received a Purple Heart.
He loved God, his country and dearly loved his family.
Family members left to cherish his memory include his wife of 55 years, Bonnie Melchor Manus, two sons, Richard Lee Manus of China Grove and Jason Daniel Manus and wife Penny of China Grove; one grandson, Brennen Andrew Manus and wife Brooklyn of Yorktown, Va. and one great granddaughter, Brielle Kay Manus. Three granddaughters, Brittany Moritz and husband Andrew of Rockwell, Jessica Miller of Pensacola Christian College and Destiny Miller of China Grove. He is also survived by one sister, Ann Burris and husband Fred of Stanly, NC
Funeral services will be conducted 3:00 P.M. Sunday, November 14, 2021 at Piedmont Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dr. Mike Edwards. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. At other times they will be at the residence.
Private graveside rites will be held at the Salisbury National Cemetery with military graveside honors conducted by the US Army and Rowan County Veteran’s Honor Guard.
