Angel Mae (Moran) Worthington

Angel Mae Moran Worthington, 45 years old, of Murrayville, GA, previously of Kannapolis, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior on April 1, 2023.  Angel was born in Canton, OH on January 11, 1978 to the late Robert and Debbie Gipson Moran.

Angel was a loving wife, mother, sister, and friend to many.  Angel was a graduate of Midland Trail High School, class of 1996 in Hico, West Virginia.  She was introduced to Jeremy, her husband by his sister Amber, when Amber and Angel attended high school together.  Angel was an adventurous spirit, who always was smiling and never met a stranger. Angel loved her family so much that she would travel with her husband for business throughout the Southeast.  While living in Tennessee,  her and Jeremy started the foster care process, with the intention of fostering a child, then adopting. She was preceded in death by her adopted dad/ grandfather, Earl Garland Gipson.

Angel is survived by her husband of 24 years, Jeremy Worthington; her daughter, Marissa Worthington; her mom/grandmother, Frances Gipson; her sisters,  Brooke Moran, Sharon Kurtz ( Tim) and Kathy Geckler (Keith); her half-sister, Jen Moran; her brother-in-law, Brandon Worlow; her sisters-in law, Nicole Rilea, Charity Theyse, Kandi Munson, Amber Gill and her fiancé Joseph, and Vivian Thomas; cousins, TJ (Nikki) and Chris Kurtz, and Kady Manis (Michael), and many nieces, nephews, and friends.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 7, 2023 from 3-5pm at Whitley’s Funeral Home and then Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 11am to 12pm at North Kannapolis United Methodist Church.  A funeral service celebrating Angel’s life will begin at 12pm, with the interment to follow at Carolina Memorial Park.
