Obituary: Angelo Francis Codespot, age 87, passed away on Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis, NC after two months of declining health. He was born August 11, 1928 in Kimball, West Virginia, the son of the late Vito Codespot and Mary Ann Codespot. Angelo moved to Kannapolis, NC in 1959 having lived in Butler, PA most of his life. Angelo had served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II having served from the 1940's to 1959. He owned & operated Codespot Painting, Kannapolis, NC where he restored many historical properties in the surrounding area. After retirement he played guitar and sang Gospel music at local assisted living homes. He was also active volunteering in the community bringing joy to others for many years. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Barnhardt Codespot who died May 19, 1988; three brothers; four sisters, and a granddaughter, Leeanna Codespot. A memorial service to celebrate his life will be held at 11:30 AM Saturday, March 5, 2016 at St. James the Greater Catholic Church, 139 Manor Avenue, SW, Concord, NC officiated by Father Jerome Chavarria. Military rites will be conducted after the ceremony at the church. Burial will be at a later date for family. Survivors include his two children, Lisa Codespot and Anthony Codespot, both of Kannapolis, NC; grandchildren, Nick Moore and Cody Moore, both of Wilmington, NC and Tiea Lemasters of Salisbury, NC; great-grandchildren, Victoria Lemasters and Sophia Lemasters, and Mallory Bentley, all of Salisbury, NC; and one sister, Helen Nolan of Scottsdale, AZ. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Music Dept. at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington.
