Anja Arnholdt

Obituary: Anja Arnholdt, born in Brooklyn, NY on 10 November 1953, died in Concord, NC on 10 June 2019. She is preceded in death by her late parents, Arne and Gerda Arnholdt of Hamburg, Germany, younger brother Lester Arnholdt of Brooklyn, NY, and special friend, James Duckworth of Charlotte, NC. Anja is survived by her daughters Terry Anja Elliott (of Gastonia) and Sandy Anja Johnson (of Concord) and respective sons in law; niece, Kaitlyn Michelle Arnholdt, of Pennsylvania, grandsons Thomas Andrew Stewart and Samuel Shepherd Elliott, and granddaughters Magnolia Renee Elliott and Elizabeth Anja Johnson. She is also survived by closest best friends James Scott Carter of Charlotte and Richard Fenner of Kew Gardens, NY. Anja graduated from York Technological College in South Carolina with an Associates Degree in Teleproduction Studies, and worked as a contract videographer (The Pros in North Carolina and TV ASIA in New York.) Anja was always striving for the best and set the quality standards for local/community access television production in the Charlotte area for over 30 years through her audio/visual masterpiece concept, "Jim Duckworth and Friends." The show won countless local awards for various criteria, including but not limited to: Content, Concept, Lighting, Music, Direction and Editing, among others. The family wishes to extend deepest thank you Dr. K. Kadakia, Oncologist for Levine's Cancer Center of Charlotte and all of his nurses and assistants; also the Hospice and Palliative Care nurses of the Charlotte area, as well as the hundreds of friends and acquaintances who prayed for Anja during her struggle with Cancer. We are grateful. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the Arnholdt family,and details for the memorial services will be posted on Social Media on a future date, as Anja will be celebrated for her life and decision to help advance the education of NC medical studies at Wake Forest University.
