Obituary: Ann Fesperman Basinger, went to be with her Savior on Friday, March 20, 2015 at the Glenn A. Kiser Hospice House, Salisbury, NC after a brief illness. Mrs. Basinger was born in Mooresville, NC on July 16, 1935 to Mr. and Mrs. Donald Fesperman. She was married to Vachel Basinger for 53 years prior to his passing in 2008. She is preceded in death by her husband, Vachel, her mother, Willis Fesperman, and her father, Donald Fesperman. Mrs. Basinger worked at Cannon Mills Company, Plant One Sewing Dept for many years until her retirement. She was also a member of Memorial United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC. Prior to her coming to Memorial, she had also taught Sunday school at Mt. Mitchell United Methodist Church in Kannapolis. Her family fondly remembers her love of watching hummingbirds in her front yard from year to year and working in her yard. She is survived by her sister, Mickey (Max) Overcash of Salisbury, NC; and her two sons, Ricky (Susan) Basinger of Salisbury, NC and Darrell (Kim) Basinger of Denver, NC; six grandchildren, Necie Ann (Adam), Lee (Cole), Leah (Chase), Roxie (Adam), Nikki (Justin), and Dalton; and her proudest accomplishments are her nine great-grandchildren, CJ, Charlie, Tad, Deacon, Miles, Laney, Brooks, Oz, and Holden. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Thursday, March 26, 2015 at Memorial United Methodist Church, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. Jim Brookshire. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:00 PM Thursday at the church prior to the service.
