Ann Minton Burris

Obituary: Ann Minton Burris, 73, of Concord passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast. She was born July 25, 1940 in Yadkin County, the daughter of the late Bob and Grace Vestal Collins. She retired from K&W Cafeterias in Concord and Charlotte after many years. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 PM Thursday, Dec. 12th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Rev. Steve Pennington. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Whitley's from 1:00 to 3:00 PM prior. She is survived by her husband, James B. Burris Sr., four daughters; Pam Short, Tammy Middleton, Penny Stubbs and Wendy Varner, a step son, J.B. Burris Jr., 6 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild, three brothers, James, Steve and Tom Collins, and three sisters, Mary Macy, Carol Privette and Linda Biggers. Memorials may be made to Hospice of Cabarrus County, 5003 Hospice Lane, Kannapolis, NC 28081.
