Anna Lee "Meme" Duncan-Fortenberry

Anna Lee “Meme” Osborne Duncan-Fortenberry, 88, stepped peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus surrounded by her children on Sunday, February 20th. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Essie Osborne, siblings, Frances Osborne Charbonneau, Mildred Osborne Gas, and Ernest Osborne, late husband, Howard Fortenberry, and the love of her life and husband of 35 years, Jack Duncan.

Surviving are her sister and brother in law, Hilda and Don Woods, her children, Diane and Frank Mowrer, Randy and Debbie Duncan, Sarah and Les Deaton, Beth and Aaron Minehart, and Josh and Kelley Duncan; her grandchildren, Aaron Mowrer, Lindsey and Bryan Parsons, Lauren and Sam Chandrasekaran, Jennifer Duncan and Colin Sheehan, Bradley and Katie McDaniel, Michael Deaton and Curtis Grow, Aaron Deaton, Nathaniel Duncan, Dillon Minehart, Jamie Minehart, Kristen Minehart, Jack Duncan, and Charlotte Duncan; her great-grandchildren, Jackson, Ruth, Anna, Grace, Camden, Kieran, and Luca; and numerous, loving nieces and nephews.

Anna Lee served as a Sunday School teacher at Highest Praise Family Worship Center for 17 years. She was an extraordinary woman of faith with a tender heart and a remarkable ability to love anyone and everyone. To know her was to experience her great love and learn of her love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

A celebration of Anna Lee’s life will be held at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday, February 23, 2022, at Highest Praise FWC, 1700 Bostian Rd., China Grove, NC 28023, with Bishop Wayne Miller and Pastor Bradley McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Sunset Memory Gardens Cemetery in Mint Hill, NC. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m until 11:30 a.m. prior to the service.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association, Church of God Children’s home (www.cogch.org), or the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
