Anne Elizabeth (Mullins) Lockee

Anne Elizabeth “Betty” Mullins Lockee, 80, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, June 29, 2020, at her residence.

She was born in New Orleans, LA, on July 19, 1939, the daughter of the late James Raymond and Cecilia Meehan Mullins.  In addition to her parents, Betty was preceded in death by her husband, Ossie Ola “Jackie” Lockee, Jr., her son, Ossie Ola Lockee, III, and her brother, Fred Mullins.

Betty grew up in Jacksonville, Florida, moving to NC in 1969.  She was a bookkeeper most of her adult life.

Family members include her daughters, Karen Lockee Greenspan (Michelle) and Penne Lockee; her grandsons, Brandon (Tiffany), Spencer and Hunter (Maddie); and her two great-grandsons, Tatum and Beckett.

The family will receive friends from 12:00-2:00 pm Thursday, July 2, 2020, at Whitley’s Funeral Home.  Funeral services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Lockee will begin at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel, conducted by Randy Peeler.  Entombment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park, where she will be laid to rest with her husband.

She was Momma to many and remembered by more as Mamaw.  Although in a much better place today, Mrs. Lockee will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
