Obituary: Annie Plaxco Knight, 92, of Concord, formerly of Kannapolis went home to be with her Lord on Saturday, January 27, 2018 from CHS-NorthEast after a brief period of decline. Annie was born July 8, 1925 in Kannapolis, the daughter of the late Robert "Brice" and Minnie Helms Plaxco. In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her son, Jerry W. Knight and her husband, Joe E. Knight. She is survived by her brother, Robert Brice Plaxco, Jr. She was a lifelong area resident and longtime member of Centerview Baptist Church. In earlier years, Annie was active in the church working in the sunday school nursery and VBS and then sang in the adult choir and was active with the Joyful Saints in later years. Annie was a loving and devoted homemaker for her family. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 1st at Centerview Baptist Church, with Rev. Willie Rash officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. Her body will lie in state in the church sanctuary 30 minutes prior to her funeral. A special thank you is given to Annie's care-givers at First Assembly Living Center and to the Drs. And nurses of Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus Co. for their care shown to Annie.
