Annie " Ann " (Karriker) Mcneely

January 6, 1929 — January 18, 2022

China Grove

Annie “Ann” Karriker McNeely, 93, of China Grove, went to be with her Lord Tuesday, January 18, 2022.

Born January 6, 1929, in Iredell County, she was a daughter of the late Ervin A. and Margaret Chambers Karriker.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jim McNeely; a son, Ronnie “Mac” Eugene McNeely. Annie was the oldest girl of 11 children and was also preceded in death by 5 of her siblings. 5 remain with cherished memories.

Annie worked at Cannon Mills until retiring to become a full-time caregiver for her husband Jim, and had cared for sick family and friends through the years. A gifted cook, everyone loved her famous chocolate and pecan pies. Annie was very independent, enjoyed and was thankful for still being able to drive at the age of 90, so she could enjoy eating out at local restaurants and visiting family regularly. She was a lifelong member of Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church. Although in a much better place today, Mrs. McNeely will be greatly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her.

Loving family members include her children, Terry “Buck” McNeely (Alma) and Lori Myers (Jim); her daughter in law, Sandy McNeely; grandchildren, Bryan McNeely (Ashlyn), Joshua McNeely, Jonathan Alexander, Meredith Alexander-Cherry (Bob), Tammy Capetello (Joe) and Casey Haithcox (Brandy); her great grandchildren, Jaxon Miller, Zach McNeely, Dawson McNeely, Landon McGee, Jessica King (Adam and son, Magnus King), Nathaniel and Jonathan Capetello, and Cody and Caleb Haithcox and Madi and Easton Cherry.

Graveside services to remember and give thanks for Annie’s life will be held at 3:00 pm Wednesday, February 2, 2022, at Mt. Moriah Lutheran Church Cemetery, conducted by Rev. Kay Overcash, pastor. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband.
