Obituary: Annie Pless Shoe, age 81, of Kannapolis died Saturday, April 7, 2012 at CMC-NE after a period of declining health. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, April 9, at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kim Trebold, Pastor of New Hope Lutheran and Rev. Brenda Newman, Pastor of Mt. Olivet United Methodist Church. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 to 2:00 PM on Monday, prior to the funeral. Annie was born January 20, 1931 in Cabarrus Co. NC, a daughter of the late Jarvis Franklin Pless and Mary Drye Pless. She graduated from Winecoff High School in 1948 and then from Kings Business College. Annie owned and operated Ann Shoe's Tax Service until she retired. She was a member of New Hope Lutheran Church and also of the Order of the Eastern Star. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be deeply missed. In addition to her parents, Annie was preceded in death by her sisters: Geneva Pless Martin and Ada Pless Moose and her brothers: Clyde Pless and Van Page Pless. She is survived by her husband of 57 years Charles H. Shoe of the home, her daughter, Suzan Shoe Rodgers and husband, Jeff, her grandson Adam Tyler Bost and wife, Autumn and great-grandson, Anderson Tyler Bost, all of Concord.
