Anthony Dale "Tony" Winecoff 

July 15, 1963 – November 14, 2024 

Anthony Dale "Tony" Winecoff, 61, of Kannapolis, passed away peacefully at home on November 14, 2024. Born on July 15, 1963, Tony was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. 

Tony was a wonderful man who brought joy and warmth to everyone he met. He had a passion for carp fishing, cheering on the Raiders, and spending time with his family and friends. His greatest joy in life was his children and grandchildren, who always brought a smile to his face. 

For 28 years, Tony worked as a dedicated driller at Martin Marietta, a career he cherished until his health began to decline. He will always be remembered for his hardworking nature, big heart, and endless love for those around him. 

Tony is survived by his loving wife, Sharlene Winecoff, and his children: Tonya Winecoff and her significant other, Cody; Christina Shumake and her husband, Rick; Jeffrey Shumake and his wife, Mara; and Michael Shumake and his significant other, Becca. He also leaves behind his adored grandchildren: Taylor, Joseph, Matthew, Justin, Abby, Elijah, Kirsten, and Ryder. 

He is survived by his mother, Glenda Hunter, and his siblings: Susan and her husband, Jon; Bobby and his wife, Felicia; Jamie, Kathy, Brent, and Anita. Tony will also be deeply missed by his in-laws: Charles, Hazel, Shari, Teresa, and Lynette, as well as many nieces, nephews, and friends. 

Tony is welcomed into Heaven by his father, James Winecoff, his brother, James "Scooter" Winecoff, his grandmothers, Alice and Clara Smith, his stepfather, Leonard Hunter, his cousin, Glen Smith, and his niece and nephew, Jesse and Brandy. He is also reunited with his in-laws, Nancy Sides and Emma Wilson. 

Tony’s legacy of love, laughter, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, Tony. You will be deeply missed and forever loved.
