Obituary: Mr. Archie Lee Murph, 68 of Concord went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Tucker Hospice House following a six month period of declining health. Archie was born October 4, 1947 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Archibald Clarence Murph and Nellie Johnson Murph. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Donna Troutman Murph. Archie was a 1965 graduate of Winecoff High School. He was the former owner/operator of Dover's Supermarket in Mt. Pleasant. Archie was a devoted member of Crossroad's Methodist Church in Concord where he had served on the visitor's committee and the church parking team. Archie was a member and Past President of the Mt. Pleasant Lion's Club where he was made a Jack Stickley Fellow. He enjoyed fishing at the Outer Banks. In addition to his church his main love was for his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. His family will remember him as a man of love and character. Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Sunday, November 15, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Beachy and Jay Honeycutt. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Saturday, November 14, 2015 from 6:00-8:00 P.M. At other times they will be at the residence. Interment will follow in Carolina Memorial Park. Survivors include two daughters, Melissa Scercy Crowell and husband David of Lexington, Melinda Hamilton and husband Bryan of Concord, one son, Gary Ray Price, Jr. and wife Peggy of Salisbury, two sisters, Evelyn Westling and husband Harold of Phoenix, Arizona and Joyce Messer of Kannapolis. He is also survived by his beloved seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. In Lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Crossroads Methodist Church, 220 George W.
