Obituary: Arda Adam Honeycutt, 93 of Harrisburg, passed away Tuesday, October 29, 2013 at CMC-NorthEast following a period of declining health. Mr. Honeycutt was born in Mecklenburg County, on May 28, 1920 a son of the late James Adam and Mary Pearlie Robinson Honeycutt. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife; Laura Belle Taylor Honeycutt who passed away April 16, 1967, a granddaughter; Melissa Langston, 2 brothers and 2 sisters. He was retired from Cannon Mills after 44 years as a loom fixer in Plant #1. He enjoyed farming, working on cars and was a member of Living Word Freewill Baptist Church. Funeral services for Mr. Honeycutt will be held at 2:00 PM, Friday, November 1, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel with Rev. Rodney Boone officiating. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Thursday, October 31, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Mr. Honeycutt is survived by a daughter; Patsy Black and husband Grady of Harrisburg, a son; Jerry Honeycutt and wife Lorraine of Salisbury, Grandson-in-law; Toby Langston of Pikesville, two great grandchildren; Dillon and Cara Thomas, 7 step great grandchildren, and special friend and caregiver; Paula Board and husband Michael of Harrisburg. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers at CMC-NorthEast and the caregivers from Healthy at Home for their care and kindness shown during Mr. Honeycutt's period of illness.
