Obituary: Arlen Reid Cochran, 66, of Rockwell passed away on Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at the NC State Veteran's Home in Salisbury following a period of declining health. Arlen was born October 20, 1948 in Cabarrus County, NC a son of the late Edley Arlen and Helen Brindle Cochran. Arlen was self-employed as an automobile mechanic. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in Vietnam. He dearly loved his children, but was especially close to his grandchildren and great -grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Jimmy Cochran and Nancy Hall of Rockwell, two daughters, Tammy Gullette and husband Douglas of Concord, Helen Huneycutt and William Edge of Rockwell, two brothers, Dan Cochran and wife Dare of Kannapolis, James Cochran and wife Jeanette of Kannapolis and sister, Ruth Ann Hinson and husband Mickey of Kannapolis. He is also survived by ten grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Saturday, July 25, 2015 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel conducted by Rev. Mike Hubbard. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Kannapolis with military graveside rites. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00-11:00 A.M.
