Arley Denver Graybeal

July 29, 1925 — June 18, 2012

Obituary: Arley Denver Graybeal, age 86, died Monday, June 18, 2012 at Brian Center, Concord, NC after two years of declining health. He was born July 29, 1925 in Washington County, VA, the son of the late Arley Lee Graybeal and Annie Church Graybeal. He had lived in the area for most of his life. Denver was owner & operator of Graybeal Equipment Company. He was a member of Berea Baptist Church, Mooresville, NC. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S. Army. He served from 1943 to 1946 in the European Theatre of Operations where he received five battle stars. The funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, June 21, 2012 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Rev. David Burgess and Rev. David Franks. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the funeral home. Survivors include his son, Dennis W. Graybeal & wife, Marcia of Kannapolis, NC; a grandson, Trent Graybeal of Kannapolis, NC; a sister, Leona Ingram of Kannapolis, NC; nieces, Barbara Rice and Shelly Peterson, both of Pennsylvania; his loving companion of forty years, Betty Jo Troutman of Kannapolis, NC; and her extended family. Memorials may be made to Berea Baptist Church, 1015 River Highway, Mooresville, NC 28117 or the American Kidney Fund, 11921 Rockville Pike, Suite 300, Rockville, MD 20852.
Visitation: 6-8:00 p.m., Wednesday June 20, 2012 Whitley's Funeral Home.

Service: 2:00 p.m., Thursday June 21, 2012 Whitley's Chapel

Interment: Carolina Mem. Park.
