Arlin Monroe Dancy

Arlin Monroe Dancy, 83, of Kannapolis, passed away Saturday, February 8, 2025, with his family by his side. He was an only child born to the late Clarence and Leona Belle Morris Dancy on May 29, 1941, in Cabarrus County.

Arlin married the love of his life, Olivia Smith on August 19, 1962 at Mt Olivet United Methodist Church in Kannapolis. 

Arlin graduated from Winecoff High School in 1959. He was a hard worker and worked for various companies over the years; including but not limited to Cannon Mills, Tucker Furniture, UPS, RPS, and Fedex. He even delivered cars for Hendrix. He loved his time working at the Kannapolis Country Club as well. 

Arlin loved to play golf and other sports. He coached Little League Baseball for many years. He was an avid fan of the UNC Tarheels and Atlanta Braves. Arlin loved his church, his church family (past & present), and the Lord. He adored his family and his many dogs, currently his Cocker Spaniel, Cara. Arlin was a social butterfly and never met a stranger.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 62 years, Olivia Dancy; his children, Marlene Dancy, Laurel Dancy (Chris Hunter), and Brent Dancy; his granddaughter Meggan Dancy Moss (Kory); grandson, Brayden Dancy; his great-granddaughter Wrenn Moss; his great grandson on the way; as well as other family and friends. 

Visitation for Arlin will be held Tuesday, February 11, 2025, from 1:00pm until time of service at Mt Olivet United Methodist Church, 301 Mt Olivet Road, Concord, NC 28025. The funeral service will be held at 2:00pm with Rev. Cynthia Marie Worley Nanney. Burial will be in Carolina Memorial Park following the service.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorials be made to Mt Olivet Methodist Church or Hospice and Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.
