Arthur Manuel Crooms, 99, of Kannapolis went to be with Lord on Tuesday, April 6, 2021 at Atrium Health Cabarrus following a short illness.
Arthur was born March 13, 1922 in Houston County, Alabama a son of the late Elbert Wesley Crooms and Nettie Webb Crooms.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betty Jo Chastain Crooms on July 13, 2012, a daughter, Glinda Crooms, two stepdaughters; Virginia and Ravanelle along with a granddaughter Delores.
Arthur was a dedicated member of Liberty Baptist Church in Mooresville which he deeply loved. He was a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Local #108 for over 80 years. He traveled nationally as a lineman. He loved reading his Bible.
Family members left to cherish his memory are a son, Derrick Crooms (Jennifer) of Lakeland, FL. and their children, Jacob, Jordon, Jamie, Abigail, Hannah and Joshua. Two daughters Diane Collins of Kannapolis and her children; Troy Reynolds (Nicole) and Michael Reynolds (Laura) and Linda Crooms of Houston, TX. and her son Dan Reeves. The deceased daughter, Glinda Crooms’ daughter Suzanne Smith and fifteen grandchildren.
A funeral service to celebrate Arthur’s life will be held 1:00 P.M. Tuesday, April 13, 2021 at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Eddie Graham. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in West Lawn Memorial Park, China Grove.
