Arthur Perry Goodale

Obituary: - Arthur Perry Goodale, age 85 , passed away Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at First Assembly Living Center, Concord, NC after a brief illness. He was born November 26, 1927 in Anson County, NC, the son of the late Roland Baucom Goodale and Loffie Mae Williams Goodale. Arthur was employed with the former Cannon Mills Company, Plant One, #2 Weave Room for thirty-five years until his retirement. He is fondly remembered for his love of family, gardening, cooking, and serving other people throughout his life. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife, Savada Freeman Goodale; and his sister, Mary Aline Bumgarner. The funeral service will be held at 3:00 P.M. Friday, May 24, 2013 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC officiated by Dr. Greg Sloop. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial park, China Grove, NC. The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 P.M. Friday at the funeral home prior to the service. The family will be at the home of Danny & Teresa Goodale the remainder of the time. Survivors include three sons, Danny Goodale & wife, Teresa of Kannapolis, NC; Tim Goodale & wife, Deb of Kannapolis, NC; and Jerry Goodale & wife, Donna of Salisbury, NC; one daughter, Alisa Beets & husband, Jeff of Cheraw, SC; grandchildren, Jason Goodale, Kevin Goodale, Bucky Goodale, Chase Goodale, Memi Goings, Kristi Miller, and Lexi Beets; great-grandchildren, Emma & Jacob Goodale, Audrey Savada Goodale, Nixon-Kai Goings, and Cooper Miller; and one sister, Sara Jane Grooms.
