Asonya “Tootie” Dorea Lumsden, 59, of Kannapolis, went into her heavenly home on Sunday, November 6, 2022.
Tootie was born on March 28, 1963 in Salisbury, NC to the late Roy Lumsden and Sylvia Sifford Hardin, who survives.
Tootie worked as a fraud investigator for Wells Fargo for over 25 years. She also worked for A.C. Moore for 15 years. In her free time, she liked to make beautiful handmade notecards. She always enjoyed taking trips to the beach and to the mountains. She had a special place in her heart for animals, but especially loved her two cats, Stripes and Miss Kitty.
Those left to cherish her memory include her mother, Sylvia Hardin; sister, Sandra Lumsden; and boyfriend, Dean Sanders.
The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2022 at Whitley’s Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow and begin at 3:00 p.m. at Whitley’s Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Dennis Morgan officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
