Audrey Woodward Collins

Obituary: Kannapolis, NC- Audrey Woodward Collins, age 87, died Monday, February 22, 2010 at CMC-NorthEast, NC. She was born August 14, 1922 in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Adam T. Woodward and Ruby Tuck Woodward. She was a homemaker and had worked at Belk's Department Store, Terry Products, Inc., Hobby Shop, and Neta's. She was also a member of Lakewood Baptist Church, Kannapolis, NC. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Samuel L. Collins, Jr. who died March 1, 2002. The funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Friday. February 26, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home Main Chapel, Kannapolis, NC. Burial will follow at Carolina Memorial Park, Kannapolis, NC. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, February 25, 2010 at the funeral home. Survivors include one daughter, Rebecca C. Larsen of Abingdon, VA; four sons, Steven E. Collins of Kannapolis, NC, Danny A. Collins of Avon, CT, Timothy S. Collins of Marietta, GA, and Philip A. Collins of Charlotte, NC; four sisters, Dorothea Overcash of Kannapolis, NC, Ariel Furr of Asheboro, NC, Claudia Daves of Concord, NC, and Ester Ingram of China Grove, NC; eight grandchildren; one great-grand. The family would like to thank the nurses & staff of Davita, N. Main Street, Kannapolis, NC for their care to Audrey during her six years of treatment.
