Barbara Sharon Baucom

Obituary: Barbara Sharon Baucom, age 65, met her Lord and Savior on October 6, 2014. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her family. She was born in Cabarrus County, NC, the daughter of the late Henry Lee Baucom and Mildred Tucker Baucom Curlee & her step-father, Rev. Melvyn Curlee. She is survived by a daughter, Vanessa Moss Sassman (Jimmy) and a son, Jarrett Christian Moss (Heather). She leaves behind five adoring grandchildren, Brittany Christy Eddleman, Breanna Sassman Harris, Korri Sassman, Makenzie Moss, and Landon Moss; and four great-grandchildren, Haylea, Jason, Braden, and Noah. Survivors also include four siblings, Terry Baucom (Jennifer), Karen Baucom Roscoe (Ed) and Ed Baucom (Cathy), as well as many nieces and nephews. Barbara was a registered nurse for many years. She was a loving mother and Grandy who enjoyed spending time with her family. She was one of the most intelligent and creative women and could do anything she set her mind to. She was a wonderful seamstress and enjoyed crafts and reading. A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held at 7:00 PM Thursday, October 9, 2014 at Piedmont Baptist Church, 5870 Wright Road, Kannapolis, NC officiated by her step-father, Rev. Melvyn Curlee. In celebration of her life Barbara requested that everyone wear her favorite color "red" to her service. A private burial will be at a later date. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the church prior to the service. Memorials may be made to the Susan G. Komen, Attn: Donor Services, P.O.
