Barbara Kay Clodfelter Funderburk, 80, peacefully passed away Friday afternoon, May 1, 2020, at Transitional Health Services of Kannapolis, following a brief period of declining health.
Born October 17, 1939 in Rowan County, Barbara was the daughter of the late Lee Davis Clodfelter and Dorothy Mae Correll Clodfelter. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Myron T. Funderburk.
Barbara had worked for Fieldcrest Cannon for many years and had been a loyal member of Central Baptist Church, where she was proudly active in the church food pantry. She was very humble person, and was always well dressed, well-kept, and a true “girly-girl”. Barbara loved all of her family and her church family as well. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Family members left with cherished memories include her daughter, Donna Gainey (Ronnie); her grandchildren, Matthew Gainey (Kyndle) and McKenzie Nance (C.J.); her step children, Theresa Funderburk, Eddie Funderburk (Kelly), and Andrew Funderburk (Joy); step grandchildren, Lydia and Katherine Funderburk, and Bryson Funderburk; brother, William Glenn Clodfelter; her niece, Tamara Butler, her great niece and nephews, Bella Butler, and Brett and Braxton Butler; a special lifelong friend, Gail Widenhouse, and her church family.
Graveside services to remember and celebrate the life of Mrs. Funderburk will begin at 1:00 pm Monday, May 4th, at West Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in China Grove, conducted by Rev. Dean Hunter, Pastor, Central Baptist Church.
