Obituary: Barbara Jean Kesler Garrett, 60, of Charlotte went to be with the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2016 at her residence. Death was unexpected. She was born July 2, 1956 in Mecklenburg County, NC a daughter of the late Henry Bascom Kesler and Irene Ester Scroggs Kesler. Funeral services will be 3:00 P.M. Thursday, September 22, 2016 at McEwen Funeral Service Chapel at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 P.M. Thursday until the time of the service. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. Survivors include her husband, George Garrett of the home, four children; Kristopher C. Garrett, Daniel S. Garrett, Lori M. Garrett and Sarah K. Garrett. She is also survived by sisters, Marie Crump and Katherine Murphy and one brother David Kesler. Barbara was a loving wife and Mom. She was a homemaker. Crafting was her passion; she enjoyed making jewelry, working with flowers, photography, quilting and feeding her birds. In Lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to a charity of one's choice. Whitley's Funeral Home is serving the family of Mrs. Garrett.
