Barbara Hardin Gibson Obituary

Barbara Hardin Gibson, 81, of Kannapolis passed away on June 29, 2024 at Hospice & Palliative Care of Cabarrus County.

She was born in Rowan County on September 12, 1942 to her beloved parents the late John and Mary Hardin.

In addition to her parents Barbara was preceded in death by her sisters; Linda Martin and Margaret Powell, along with her brothers; James Hardin, Paul Hardin, Ray Hardin, Tommy Hardin and Charles Hardin.

Those left to cherish her memory include Kathleen Christy, sister; Vanessa Moss, daughter; and her three sons, Tony Elwood, Danny Elwood, and Ebbie Elwood.

The family will receive friends on Thursday July 4, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Whitley’s Funeral Home 1748 Dale Earnhardt Blvd.  Kannapolis, NC  28083. A graveside service will be Friday July 5, 2024, 11 AM at West Lawn Memorial Park, 1350 S Main St, China Grove, NC 28023.

The family would like to say a special thank you to all of the caregivers, family, and friends who watched over her for the past few years as her illness continued to challenge her. She may not have shown it at the time, but deep down, she was thankful to everyone who gave her the time—the most precious of all gifts, one we all take for granted.
