Obituary: Barbara L. Grider, age 67, of Concord, passed from this worldly body to her spiritual body on Thursday, December 23, 2010 at CMC-Northeast, Concord, after a prolonged illness.The family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. Sunday, December 26, 2010 at Whitley's Funeral Home. Graveside services will be held in Frankfort, Ky., 1:00 PM Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at Sunset Memorial Gardens Chapel. A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 31, 2010 at Northwest Baptist Church with Rev. Darren Sanders officiating. Barbara was born October 18, 1943 in Lexington, Ky., to the late James Franklin and Ophelia Douglas Honshul.Area resident since 1979, Barbara was director /instructor at Carolina Beauty Systems, retiring in 2008.She is a member of Northwest Baptist Church.She was a loving wife, devoted mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister and two brothers, Lola, Robert and Herbert Honshul. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Paul Grider, of the home; her daughter, LaDonna Lynn (Eric) of Statesville; daughter, Angela Kaye Harrod of Concord; a son, James Bradley Grider (Andrea) of Kannapolis; five grandchildren, 1 great-granddaughter; sisters, Elizabeth Grider of Miss., Linda Honshul of Lexington, Ky.; brothers, William "Buster" Honshul of La., Roger Honshul of Lawrenceburg, Ky.
