Barbara Hill Johnson

Obituary: Barbara Hill Johnson, 70, of Gold Hill, NC went to be with her Lord and Savior from her home on Sunday, December 22, 2013 after 22 months of declining health. Barbara was born on July 27, 1943 in Cumberland Co., NC, the daughter of Mary Cashion Hill of Concord and the late Rev. Millard Hill. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her brother, Lindsey Hill. Barbara's life was centered on her family. Nothing was more precious than her children, grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Tabernacle Church in Salisbury and was previously a member of Landis Baptist and then Central Baptist. She was employed for 35 years with the former Cannon Mills Company as an administrative assistant. The funeral for Mrs. Johnson will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, December 27th at Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel conducted by Rev. Dr. Steve Holshouser. Burial will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12-2:00 pm., Friday before the service. At other times will be at the residence. In addition to her mother, survivors include her husband of 40 years, Roger J. Johnson, Sr. of the home; 2 daughters, Beth Kenerly (Dwight) of Gold Hill and Tammy Hilburn (Steve) of Kannapolis; 2 sons, Robert Ross of Landis and James Johnson (Wendy) of Rockwell; nine grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and a brother, Buddy Hill (Gay) of Winston-Salem. Service: 2:00 PM, Friday December 27, 2013 Whitley's Funeral Home Chapel.
